Green Sauce
3 garlic cloves
5 serrano or jalapeño chiles
10 miltomates (green tomatoes)
1 sprig cilantro
2 tbsp. chopped onion
Salt to taste
Preparation:
This delightful sauce is prepared with raw ingredients ground in a chirmolera (or mortar). Start the grinding with the garlic, salt and chiles. Once they are well-ground, place in a sauce dish. Grind the miltomates and cilantro, add to the garlic mixture and top with chopped onion.
