Tecomaxtlahuaca Lagoon

Enchanted Lagoon of Tecomaxtlahuaca

Description
Named thus because of its topographic formation, vegetation and especially for the lagoon formed by two, hot and cold sulphurous springs. The quantity of water produced is excessive and sometimes it overflows the lagoon banks. It is approximately 164,04 feet (50 metres) in diameter. The water, of an emerald green, is mild and crystalline. A spacious meadowland and treed areas surround the place. It is ideal for practising diverse activities such as photography, camping, and picnics. On special occasions, the place becomes an amusement centre. Local tradition attributes its water with curative powers. Swimming is not recommended due to the depth of its waters and muddy floor.

On one side of the lagoon, there is a small forest that today stands majestically and welcomes the lagoon visitors offering an amusement park, especially during vacation season.
