Description
It is a lagoon permanently formed in a depression located on top of a mountain. It has an approximate diameter of 393,7 feet (120 metres), surrounded by cold climate wooded vegetation (oak and ocote). The lagoon is natural habitat for some fish species such as tilapia and Israel carp.


Location
• Santiago Yosondúa: Is located 152 miles (244 kilometres) West of the City of Oaxaca via highway 131-D to Mexico City. At Nochixtlán take the highway 190 detour. When you reach Yucudaa, turn left at the highway 125 detour. Keep going till Tlaxiaco, turn South via the road with destination Chalcatongo de Higaldo. Passing this town continue until you reach Yosondúa. Approximate travel time: [4:00]
